Hanover County crash leaves child dead, five others injured

A stretch of I-295 in Hanover County was the scene of a fatal single-vehicle crash.

The accident occurred Monday morning when a Chevrolet Tahoe lost control and went off the road. The vehicle ended up crashed in an embankment.

Six people were in the vehicle. All occupants were taken to VCU Medical Center for care; one of the passengers, a child, died of their injuries. No other injuries were considered life-threatening.
